With this blog I hope to give
attenders, friends & anyone
curious about LifePoint an inside
perspective on how LifePoint
functions. I also intend to share
questions, observations &
personal perspectives generated in
my life as I seeks to be a Christ
follower and Kingdom dweller in
this rapidly changing and
spiritually hungry post-modern
culture.

| Suprisingly
I find myself the "Old Man" on staff
at
LifePoint
Church
in
Byron
,
GA.
Suprised not that I'm at LifePoint but that
I'm as old as I am. Where has the time gone? I
grew up in
Hawkinsville
,
GA
and married my high school sweetheart, Sharon
Buchan in 1971.Boy has she aged more
gracefully that I have. I pastored a small
country church in
Forsyth
,
GA
while attending
Mercer
University
in
Macon
,
GA.
After graduating in 1980 it was on to
seminary, first to The Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY and
then to Southeastern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. After graduating
from Southeastern in 1984 we pastored churches
in
Virginia
and
Indiana
as well as serving at Dean of Students at
Southeastern for serveral years. Sharon and I
moved back to GA in the mid 90's and pastored
churches in
Thomasville
and the
Warner Robins
area. In late 2006, I took on the challenge of
Execuitve Pastor at
LifePoint
Church
in
Byron
,
GA.
I am more fullfilled and having more fun
"doing ministry" now that ever
before. It seems that all my life experiences
have perfectly equiped me for this exciting
challenge. |
